1581 Fortified Wine

We were commissioned to produce a new brand and packaging for White Castle Vineyard a small Welsh vineyard situated in the beautiful rolling countryside of Monmouthshire in the village of Llanvetherine close to the towns of Abergavenny and Monmouth.

Project Scope

Brand Development
Packaging

The result of four years of planning - 1581 is the first fortified wine to be produced in Wales and we wanted to celebrate and reflect this uniqueness by producing innovative labels with a die-cut solution for the text allowing the wine to shine through as it was being drunk adding a sense of intrigue to the packaging.

We were inspired by the beautiful Grade ll listed Croft barn situated at the foot of the vineyard. which dated back to the late 1500s – hence the product name - 1581.

The simple use of typography and restrained colour palette provided the appropriate level of design sophistication, and allowed the wines to remain the focal point.

"Kutchibok clearly listened to our vision for the brand, capturing the true essence of White Castle vineyard and then translating this clearly onto the packaging. We are thrilled with end result and everyone comments on the premium look and feel of the packaging."
